Give Food

We receive food donations from individuals, families, neighborhood groups, and church organizations. Donations should be delivered during our hours of operation, but if that is not possible, call us so that we can arrange to meet you at the pantry.

Guidelines for Donated Food

  • Non perishable (no glass, please)
  • Sell­by date no earlier than 2014 for canned fruit, tomatoes and pickled items (anything highly acidic):
  • Sell­by date no earlier than 2011 for all other canned food

Kinds of food most needed

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meals (tuna, meat, stew, Chef Boyardee, hearty soups)
  • Canned beans
  • Dry beans
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned vegetables
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Helpers
  • Boxed potatoes
  • Cream soups

Food Drives

Organizations which desire to carry out a large food drive are most appreciated. Food drives are a major source of the food in our warehouse.

Tips for successful food drives

  • Flyers on door knobs (see examples below)
  • Arrange with the pantry managers for the date and time of delivery of collected food
  • Deliver the collected food with enough people to help process and shelve the food
